Michael Bland established our firm in 1990, and since then has established long term successful relationships with business’ & individuals from a wide range of industries, including, but not limited to primary production, manufacturing, transport, construction, retail and property.
Our team is highly motivated and highly trained to assist our clients in fully understanding their financial circumstances, and to respond to their changing needs.
At Michael Bland Accounting, our objective is clear, to create commercial advantage for our clients through providing insightful financial services completed at the highest of standards. Using a collaborative approach, we listen to our client’s specific needs, providing timely strategic advice helping our clients gain greater financial control.

Meet the Team
Michael Bland
Principal
Michael is a Chartered Accountant and the principal of our firm, with a Bachelor of Economics and a Master of Taxation.
Michael’s tax consulting experience covers a range of clients including complex family groups, owner/managers and small and medium enterprises across a variety of industry sectors.
Michael has a hands-on personal approach in advising clients and works hard to achieve the best commercial and tax outcome for the client. He enjoys the challenge of keeping up to date with the constant changes to tax legislation to ensure clients are best advised.
Michael specialises in structuring SMEs to minimise tax exposure and maintain appropriate risk management whilst maximising stakeholder benefits.
If Michael doesn’t bore you with conversations about the Mighty tigers, it’s probably cricket season, where he will then lead a discussion into how NSW players always get preference over more deserving Victorian Cricketers.
Eddy Missen
Accountant
Ed has been the Accountant at our Colac office for the last 30 years, where he specialises in hands on client experiences.
Ed is a cloud accounting enthusiast and will take you through the ins and outs of your software program.
Just drop in to the Colac office and you can’t fail to feel his passion for the work at hand.
He is a solid Collingwood supporter, and is a devoted Grandfather.
Will Bland
Accountant
Will is a Senior Accountant at our Geelong office with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Will has over ten years’ experience assisting clients in complying with their current obligations. He loves a challenge and is at his best when explaining difficult concepts to clients.
He has a great understanding of accounting packages and the theory behind them, so if you have a problem with understanding the program, he can assist.
Will has inherited his father’s love of the Tigers.
Away from work Will loves Playing local football, cricket, tennis – well anything that requires you to chase around a ball, as well as hiking & camping.
Will is back in our Newcomb office, so make sure you say hi next time you are in. Will is currently completing his Chartered Accountant Australia Qualification.
Jennifer Kennedy
Accountant
Jen is our Superannuation compliance specialist with a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, and Advanced diploma in Accounting. She has more than 23 years’ experience in small business accounting and superannuation fund administration.
Her attention to detail is the reason we have no problems with the auditors of the funds
When Jen is not at work, or following her beloved Magpies in the footy, she is catching up with her grandchildren.
Charlotte Bland
Accountant
Charlotte is a junior accountant, with a Bachelor’s degree in Commence, majoring in Accounting. Charlotte is currently completing her Chartered Accountant Australia Qualification.
Charlotte can help you with all of your cloud-based accounting questions, business activity statement lodgements, other tax obligations and any ASIC and Corporate affairs lodgements. If you need anything from our practice, Charlotte will be able to assist you.
Charlotte is also a big Tigers fan and if she’s not off supporting the Tigers, she is playing netball for the Queenscliff Coutas or baking cakes.
